Project Description
The proposal took on a low cost but energy efficient approach. The effects of which encouraged a design that is void of the typical use of domes and arches. In doing this, the design began to question the role of specific design elements that are assimilated with religious architecture, their symbolism and the role they play. This project aimed to break the stereotypical approach to all those questions and produce a design that inculcated the salient features of Masjid design whilst appropriating it to its current context and period in time.
